Our Products

What is kombucha?

Kombucha is a bubbly beverage that is rich in probiotics. It is refreshing and consumed cold. Kombucha is considered a functional beverage, like tea, that tastes good and is good for you. The flavor is fruity and tart, due to the production of vinegar from the fermentation; however, the flavor profile can vary between brewers.

What are the health benefits of kombucha?

Kombucha has one of the highest amounts of probiotics you can consume in a beverage. Probiotics are vital to our bodily functions, including our immune system, digestion, and endocrine system. Most people do not consume enough probiotics compared to what was consumed historically through raw foods and our even our water.

How is kombucha made?

Kombucha is made by brewing tea and fermenting the tea with sugar and the probiotics together. Many people call the probiotics a syngeristic colony of bacteria and yeast (S.C.O.B.Y.). This brewing process gives the probiotics everything they need to grow. Once the fermentation is complete, the kombucha is refrigerated, keeping the probiotics alive, until it is ready to consume.

Are your products vegan?

Yes, with the exception of the Honey Jun SCOBY, and the honey-based kombucha flavors (Champagne and Wildflower Puerh).

Are your products gluten-free?

Our products do not contain any gluten and we do not produce any products with gluten in our facility (although we are not technically a certified gluten free facility).

How many calories and how much sugar is in your products?

Our loose-leaf teas have no added sugar. Syrup concentrates have 10 calories and 2.41 grams of sugar per 1oz serving. Our kombucha has approximately 30 calories and 2 grams of sugars per 8oz serving.

Why do two bottles of the same flavor kombucha sometimes taste different?

We brew in small batches, which means every batch is a little different!

Why is the kombucha so foamy?!

Sometimes if the kombucha is shaken or gets warm, it can become extra bubbly. Please keep your kombucha refrigerated and open and close the cap quickly to release pressure before opening.

Do you have any caffeine-free kombucha?

Yes! Almost all kombucha is caffeinated, as it is usually made from the tea plant, camellia sinensis. However, our Lemongrass, Ginger, and Elderberry Mule kombucha flavors are both based on our special lemongrass formula, and are therefore both delicious and caffeine-free!

How long can I store bottles of your kombucha?

Our kombucha will last for 3 months in the fridge, if the fridge is kept at a recommended temperature of 40 degrees F. After that period of time, there is a risk that the naturally occurring alcohol within the kombucha can increase and may surpass the legal limit for non-alcoholic beverages. It does not mean it is unsafe to consume, but we want consumers to be aware of this. We always recommend consuming before the “best by” date which is marked on each bottle.
