No one chai is the same. From the selection of herbs to the grinding and the recipe, we balanced our masala chai to present the layers of brightness and warmth of traditional Indian herbs with the backdrop of smooth Yunnan black tea. Yunnan black tea is known to be less tannic and harsh compared to other black teas, and enjoyable even without milk and sugar. Rest assured for the chai latte lovers, our fresh in-house grinding of herbs from our meticulous artisans deliver colorful notes of Guatemalan cardamom, Hawaiian ginger, and Indonesian cinnamon through streamed milk.
All organic ingredients include black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, black pepper and cloves are hand blended and packaged by artisans in Seattle.
We recommend brewing masala chai with 1 heaping tablespoon for every 8 ounces of water at 208F for 6 minutes to extract the many layers of citrus and spicy flavors. Add tea or sugar to taste. To enjoy a chai latte, brew with half the amount of water and fill the remaining half with steamed milk.
